Arijit Singh Bio
Arijit Singh is a playback singer born in 1987, on April 25 in the district of Murshidabad, in West Bengal, India. In 2005 he was part of the six better contestants in Fame Gurukul, the reality show, where his career was started when he was discovered by Kumar Taurani and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the filmmaker who included his voice in the soundtrack of the film Saawariya but the script changed and the song was never released. In 2006, he became a music producer, investing the money from the prize he won in the reality show “10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil” to build his studio. He has performed songs for numerous films and events in diverse Indian Languages but he sings mainly in Hindi and Bengali. His official debut as a singer was in 2011 in the Bollywood movie “Murder 2” with the song “Phir Mohabbat”. In 2013, he was nominated by the Mirchi Music Awards for the Upcoming Male Vocalist of the Year award for her performances on the songs “Phir Le Aya Dil” and “Duaa”, the song that gave him the award. He also does humanitarian work through his NGO which is a word for the Below Poverty Line (BPL) Community called “Let There Be Light”.
