Arkona is a band from Moscow, Russia. The band was formed in 2002 and its members include vocalist/keyboardist Maria ‘Masha Scream’ Arkhipove, guitarist Sergei ‘Lazar’ Atrashkevich, bassist Rusland ‘Kniaz’ Rosomaherov, wind ethnic instrumentalist Vladimir ‘Volk’ Reshetnikov, and drummer Alexander ‘Noff’ Smirnov. The band was however dissolved in 2003 due to a lack of enthusiasm. However, a few members decided to continue and eventually wrote the first studio album “Vozrozhdeniye”, which was released in March 2004 via Soundage Production.
Their second studio album “Lepta” arrived in December of the same year. In 2005, they released their third studio album “Vol slavu velikim!” in 2005. The fourth studio album “Ot serdtsa k nebu” was released in 2007. The following year, they performed at the Ragnarok Festival and later signed a recording contract with Napalm Record. Other albums released by the band include “Goi, Rode, Go!” in 2009, “Slovo” in 2011, “Yav”, in 2014, and “Khram” in 2018.
