Anaïs Oluwatoyin Estelle Marinho, known professionally as Arlo Parks, on August 9, 2000, in London, England. Parks began her journey as a poet, writing her thoughts down onto paper. In her teenage years, she began experimenting with turning her poems into lyrics. In 2018, she began uploading her demos to BBC Introducing. This led to her music being discovered by DJ Jess Iszatt and Beatnik Creative’s Ali Raymond. Raymond began to help produce Parks’ Cola, which was released in 2018. The track soon gained traction, with millions of streams on Spotify. In 2019, she released her debut EP, Super Sad Generation, and embarked on her first tour, supporting fellow musician Jordan Rakei. Parks has received several nominations and awards for her works, including Breakthrough Artist at the 2021 BRIT Awards.
