Hailing from San Diego, California, As I Lay Dying is an American band that performs metalcore and punk-rock music. The band consists of Tim Lambesis on vocals, Jordan Mancino on drums, Phil Sgrosso on guitar, Nick Hipa on guitar, and Josh Gilbert on bass guitar. As I Lay Dying was formed in 2000, and in 2001, they released their debut studio project Beneath the Encasing of Ashes. Their discography includes the hit singles My Own Grave, Blinded, Nothing Left, The Sound Of Truth, Redefined, and the albums Shaped By Fire, The Powerless Rise, and This Is Who We Are. The band has won four San Diego Music Awards for Artist of the Year and Best Hard Rock.
