Bukola Elemide, better known by her stage name Asa, is a French-Nigerian songwriter and singer born on September 17, 1982, in Paris, France. Her influences combine different elements from diverse genres such as reggae, pop, folk, and soul, presented in English and Yoruba lyrics.
Her debut album, self-titled “Asa” was issued by Naive Records in 2007 reached airplay on the European radio station with the single “Fire On the Mountain”. The LP got into the France Top 20 and won the Prix Constantin in 2008. After issuing a live album in 2009, she released “Beautiful Imperfection” in 2010, her second LP, which reached the 14th position in the French ranking and gave her a nomination for Female Artist of the Year, at the “Victoires de la Musique”.
In 2014, she produced her third studio album, “Bed of Stone”, charting also in Switzerland. Five years later, she produced her 4th album called “Lucid” with Chapter Two Records/Wagram, and Shanachie, the music quintet.
