Asher Perlman is a comedian, writer, cartoonist, and actor born on March 16, 1986, in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. He is an alumnus of Lawrence University, the iO Improv Program, and Second City Conservatory. He developed his comedy chops in Chicago, performing with the Chicago Just For Laughs Festival, The Annoyance, and ComedySportz.
Asher is a writer and performer for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He has received several nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series at the Primetime Emmy Awards for the show. Asher worked as a staff writer for The Opposition with Jordan Klepper. His writings have appeared in The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, and the Chicago RedEye. His cartoons have appeared in Weekly Humorist.
Asher won a WGA Award for Stephen Colbert's Election Night 2020: Democracy's Last Stand: Building Back America Great Again Better 2020. The Peabody-award-winning comedian wrote and starred in the short film Accountabilibuddies. He was in Hot Date, Doomsdate, We Have to Move, and Silence Never Sleeps Part 3D.
