Formed in 1970 in Paw Paw, West Virginia, Asleep At The Wheel is an American country music band famous for winning 9 Grammy Awards, releasing over 20 successful albums with more than 21 singles topping musical charts. The band currently consists of nine members including Ray Benson, Katie Shore, Eddie Rivers, David Sanger, Dennis Ludiker, Josh Hoag, Connor Forsyth, Jay Reynolds and Jon Mitchell. Over the course of their lengthy career, Asleep at the Wheel have garnered an astounding amount of praise and accolades for their outstanding talent and commitment to reviving western swing. After scoring a recording deal with the United Artists, they released their debut album Comin’ Right At Ya in 1973. Their notable albums include Western Standard Time (1998), Ride with Bob (1999), Reinventing the Wheel (2007) and It’s a Good Day (2010). They have also performed and collaborated with Dixie Chicks, Bob Dylan, George Strait, and The Blind Boys of Alabama.
