Athing Mu is an American athlete and runner best known for competing in middle-distance races. She was born in Trenton, New Jersey, United States, on June 8, 2002.
Athing became famous in 2019 when she broke the American women's record at 600 m, and she further solidified herself in the middle distance running world when she broke the U-20 record for women's indoor 800 m. Since turning professional, she has won a gold medal in the 800m race at the World Championships and two gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in the 800 m race and 4×400 m relay race, where she teamed up with Allyson Felix, Sydney McLaughlin, and Dalilah Muhammad.
