Atmosphere Bio
Hip Hop group Atmosphere originated in 1989, and is comprised of Sean Daley, a rapper who goes by the name of Slug, and Anthony Davis, the DJ and producer who goes by Ant. One of the original members Derek Turner, who was known as Spawn, met Slug while the two were in high school. They were introduced to Ant, and began performing together, eventually teaming up with some other rappers at the time to create the label Rhymesayers. In 1997, Atmosphere released their debut album Overcast!, whose single “Scapegoat” received wide airtime on the radio. Spawn left the group just three years later, and the duo continued on to release an LP titled “Lucy Ford: The Atmosphere EPs”. They followed this success with the album God Loves Ugly in 2002, for which they toured extensively, and later the albums Seven’s Travels in 2003, You Can’t Imagine How Much Fun We’re Having in 2005, When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold in 2008, The Family Sign in 2011, and Southsiders in 2014. Apart from Atmosphere, Slug has released many collaborations with various other artists, namely with rapper Murs from Living Legends.
