Audrey Nicole Assad was born on July 1, 1983 in Secaucus, New Jersey. She had a difficult start to her career because she had trouble finding gigs and supporting herself. Her first notable hits were four songs that she recorded with a member of a different Christian Band called Tenth Avenue North. She was invited to tour with the band a few times, which she accepted.
In 2008, Audrey was able to raise enough money from her fans to help her move to Nashville, Tennessee, which is known as “Music City” because that is where a lot of singers start out and get noticed. She was lucky enough to meet with Paul Moak, who has written music for many famous things including the television show Private Practice. They worked together to create an EP titled Firefly, and Audrey subsequently signed with Sparrow Records. She has since split with Sparrow Records and signed with Fortunate Fall Records, which is geared more towards Christian music. She plans to release a couple of albums in the next few years.
