Auli’i Cravalho is an American actress, voice actress, and singer born in Kohala, Hawaii on November 22, 2000. She is best known for voicing the character Moana in several animated films. Her debut role was voicing the character for the 2016 animated film Moana for the English and Hawaiian language versions. She initially wasn’t going to audition for the role, but an Oahu talent agent discovered her at a charity competition and told her she should audition. Out of hundreds of actresses that auditioned for the part Cravalho was the very last. She landed the role and voiced the character in the 2016 film and again for the animated films Moana: Gone Fishing and Ralph Breaks the Internet. She made her debut on television in 2018 in the television show Rise and has also had a role in the show Weird City. In 2018 she was in stage production Have a Nice Day at the Minetta Lane Theater. For her role in Moana she was nominated for several awards and won an Annie Award, an Alliance of Women Film Journalists Award, and a Teen Choice Award.
