Author & Punisher Bio
Author & Punisher is a one-man band formed by Tristan Shone in January 2004. Tristan was born on October 18th, 1977 in New Hampshire. He abandoned his career as a Mechanical Engineer to pursue arts and sculpture. Author & Punisher self-released The Painted Army in 2005 and Warcry in 2007. The band began receiving a lot more attention in 2010 after the release of Drone Machines. Pressure Mine followed in 2017 as a self-issued EP before Shone made his Relapse debut in 2018 titled Beastland. AUTHOR & PUNISHER performances are the real unions between man and mechanisms. They are direct, physical, heavy experiences that have amassed praise and intrigue from a wide array of audiences. Pitchfork styled Shone’s style as “immediate but mysterious,” Stereogum described his creations as “chilling, unrecognizable form,” and NPR hailed him as “a thriller who fires on all cylinders.”
