AWOLNATION Bio
AWOLNATION is an alternative rock group formed in 2010 by songwriter Aaron Bruno who wrote and recorded Sail under Better Noise Music label, a single on their album Megalithic Symphony (2011). Sail holds the record for the most weeks spent by a single on the Billboard Top 100 songs by an independent artist, as well as the second-longest single spent on the charts by any artist.
Band members have changed a few times since their formation. Current members are Aaron Bruno (vocals and rhythm guitar), Isaac Carpenter (drums, percussion and backing vocals), Zach Irons (lead guitar and backing vocals), Daniel Saslow (programming and keyboards) and Michael Goldman (bass and backing vocals). Their album Angel Miners and the Lightning Riders included cameos from artists Rivers Cuomo and Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes.
