Ayla Nereo is a folk artist born and bred in the wine country of northern California. She credits her parents’ unusual home-schooling process for her unique approach to art; they would simply have her learn from the world while they took trips and have their children write reports. Together with her brother, Davyd Nereo, they form the folk band Beatbeat Whisper, which has released two albums independently.
Ayla cites having been raised on Bob Dylan, opera, and classical music for her music inspirations. Billboard magazine describes her as a “modern day flower child.” The Nereo siblings have released extensive music singles through free online channels and promoted themselves mostly through the Internet. Their albums are self-released as of this writing.
