Baratunde Rafiq Thurston is an American writer, comedian, and TV personality best known for his work in film and television. He was born in Washington, D.C., United States, on September 11, 1977. Baratunde became famous in the late 2010s when he began hosting the TV series Popular Science's Future of, and he has since been a regular on the TV series TakePart Live and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. He made his film debut in the 2014 drama-satire film Dear white people which also featured Justin Simien, Tessa Thompson, Brandon P. Bell, and Tyler James Williams.
