Barrie Gower Bio
Barrie Gower is a make-up artist and prosthetic make-up designer from the United Kingdom. He was an animatronic model designer for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005). He was a prosthetics sculptor for an episode of Silent Witness in 2010.
Barrie was a prosthetic make-up artist for The Iron Lady and How I Live Now. He was a prosthetics designer for the 2014 short film Looking for Vi. From 2015 to 2017, he designed the prosthetics for The Frankenstein Chronicles. His work on Rocketman won him the 2019 Hollywood Film Award for Make-Up and Hairstyling of the Year.
Barrie received a nomination at the 2020 BAFTA Television Craft Award for Make Up & Hair Design for Chernobyl. He won the 2014, 2016, and 2018 Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Prosthetic Make-up for a Series, Limited Series, Movie, or Special for his work on Game of Thrones. He also won the 2022 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Prosthetic Make-up for Stranger Things: Chapter Four: Dear Billy.
