Bastille Bio

Bastille is a British indie-electronic and rock band led by singer-songwriter Dan Smith. The band came together in London in 2010 after Smith recruited drummer Chris Wood, guitarist William Farquarson, and keyboardist Kyle Simmons. In 2011 they released their debut single “Flaws/Icarus” with the label Young and Lost Club, followed shortly after by their first EP “Laura Palmer”. A series of single releases put the band on the map, including the chart-topping 2013 hit “Pompeii”. “Bad Blood” (2013) also topped the British albums chart, and in 2014 the group won the Brit Award for Best Breakthrough Act and was also nominated for British Album of the Year, British Single of the Year, British Group, and even a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. In 2016 the band released its sophomore effort “Wild World”, which became an international album chart-topper. In 2017, the band rendered a song titled “World Gone Mad” as a soundtrack to the film “Bright”. In 2019 the band released the LP “Doom Days”, and in 2020 they made a collaboration with Graham Coxon from Blur to release a single titled “What You Gonna Do???”
