Baxter Dury is an indie rocker from England, the son of Ian Dury, himself a noted band frontman for Kilburn and the High Roads and later Ian Dury and the Blockheads. As a child, he was on the album cover for his dad’s album “New Boots and Panties!!” Baxter follows in his father’s footsteps, growing up in a rock-and-roll home where he notes his earliest appreciation for funk, soul, and jazz. Baxter began writing songs with a childhood friend and got a contract with the Universal Island label.
Baxter Dury has released five studio albums, the most recent, “Prince of Tears” (2017) showing his best chart performance yet. Baxter’s song topics range from childhood woes at his father’s passing to relationships on the rocks to Brexit and its impact on the UK.
