Becca Stevens is an American singer and songwriter who was born on June 14th 1984 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States. Becca advanced her singing career while majoring in classical guitar at the North Carolina School of the Arts. She later earned her B.F.A in vocal jazz and composition from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City.
Becca got some acclaim and recognition for being a member of Travis Sullivan’s Bjorkestra and also for her famous collaborations with Taylor Eigsti and Brad Mehldau. Other famous artists she performed with includes Eric Harland (drummer), Jose Jame (vocalist), and Lionel Loueke (guitarist). Becca’s debut album Tea Bye Sea appeared in 2008 and the follow up Weightless appeared in 2011 featuring guest appearances from Gretchen Parlato and Stevens. Her third full length effort Perfect Animal appeared in 2015 featuring production from Scott Solter and it included covers of songs by Frank Ocean, Usher, and Steve Winwood.
