Beck Hansen, also known as Beck, is an American eclectic and alternative singer, songwriter, and composer born in Los Angeles, California, in 1970. He has won five Grammy Awards: Best Male Rock Vocal (“Where It’s At”, 1996), Best Alternative Music (“Mutations”, 1997), Best Rock Album and Album of the Year (“Morning Phase”, 2014), and Best Alternative Music Album (“Colors”, 2019). Beck started his musical career after moving back to LA from New York in the late 1980s and released his first recordings with Bong Load Custom Records. In 1994 Beck made his proper album debut with “Mellow Gold” and saw “Loser” become a hit single nationwide. After taking a break from music, Beck returned in 2005 with the LP “Guero” and a remix album titled “Guerolito”. In 2010 he also recorded the soundtrack for the film “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”. The late 2010s saw Beck’s collaborations with The Chemical Brothers, M83, Pharrell Williams, and N.E.R.D. In 2019 Beck released the long-player “Hyperspace”.
