Belinda Bencic is a Swiss tennis player born on March 10, 1997 in Flawil, Switzerland. Belinda`s father Ivan Bencic was a professional hockey player of Slovakian descent. Her brother Brian Bencic also plays tennis professionally. Her childhood idol was another Slovak-Swiss tennis player, Martina Hingis whose mother Melanie Molitor was Belinda`s trainer. She began her professional career when she was 14 and debuted at the ITF Women’s Circuit in March 2011 and made her debut for the Switzerland Fed Cup team in 2012.
By age 16, she had already won two Wimbledon junior Grand Slams at the French Open. Belinda`s career-high was reaching WTA ranking of No. 4 in the world in February 2020. Even though she has not won any Grand Slam titles, she has won four singles and two doubles titles on the WTA Tour.
