Coming from Dublin, Ireland, Bell X1 are known for their alternative and indie rock music. They are often compared with bands like Coldplay, Radiohead, and U2. The band’s roots started in 1991 as Juniper, but became Bell X1 by 1999 at Celbridge, County Kildare. Under the name Juniper, they started to play cover songs for private functions like weddings, earning them a good reputation which led to the release of two EPs after which they signed a 6-album deal in 1997 under Polygram Ireland.
As Juniper, they have successful singles like “The Weatherman” and “The World is Dead.” However, ego came its way in the band which resulted to disbandment. Rice went solo while the remaining members formed Bell X1. They then worked under Universal Music Ireland for their debut album “Neither Am I” which was received poorly by the audience. Then they were able to fully recover with their second album “Music in Mouth” gaining positive reviews.
