Born in December 31, 1943, Krishna Bhanji or publicly known as Ben Kingsley came from Yorkshire, England. His parents are Rahimtulla Harji Ghanji and Anna Lyna Goodman. He started to act in stage plays in 1960s. He soon started taking roles on films and TV. He chose a new name for himself for fears that a foreign name could prevent his career from blossoming.
He gained international fame with his performance from 1982 film “Ghandi.” He won many awards including an Oscar for Best Actor. He also took home a Golden Globe, BAFTA, and a London Film Critics’ Circle Award. After “Ghandi,” he starred on other roles like “Schindler’s List,” “The Tale of Sweeney Todd,” and “Anne Frank: The Whole Story.”
