Ben Mendy Bio
Benjamin Mendy, better known as Ben Mendy, is a French professional footballer, born on July 17, 1994, in Longjumeau, France. He plays as a left-back for Manchester City and the French national team. He started his career by joining the local club Palaiseau at the young age of 6. After 7 years, in 2011 he was approached by Le Havre and that’s when he signed his first professional contract as a youth player. After getting promoted as a senior player he made his debut in a Coupe de la Ligue game against Amiens.
In 2013, he was signed by Olympique de Marseille where he was pushed by his trainer Marcelo Bielsa to take his life and career seriously, and in 2016 Ligue 1 club Monaco announced they had signed Mendy. At Monaco, he came across Leonardo Jardim whom he refers to as El Tactico, and the person who brought him on so much as a man and as a player. After hitting enormous heights in the 2016/2017 season, he was then brought to Manchester City as a defender for a then world-record fee.
