Ben Watt is a British songwriter, singer, musician and author. He was born Benjamin Brian Thomas Watt on the 6th of December, 1962, in London, England. He began his musical career in the early 1980s by releasing his debut single “Cant” through the indie label Cherry Red. A few months later, he released his first EP, “Summer into Winter” featuring Robert Wyatt on the piano. The EP was well received and when he released his debut album “North Marine Drive” by 1983, he already had a solid fan base. The album reached the Top 10 on the UK Independent Album Charts and it was a success. In 2000, Watt started exploring electronic music sounds and he began performing as a DJ. He released tracks like “Pop A Cap in Yo’Ass” featuring Estelle and “A Stronger Man” featuring Sananda Maitreya, which were praised by critics. In 2016, he released his third album “Fever Dream”, perhaps his most popular, receiving highly positive reviews.
