Benga, whose real birth name is Adegbenga Adejumo, is a British music producer, DJ and pioneer of dubstep of Yoruba Nigerian descent who was born on September 1, 1986, in Croydon, London, England. He started experimenting with electronic music when he was a child and by the time he was 15 years old he released his first song called “Skank” under Big Apple Records.
He released several singles until he published his first album called Newstep in 2006. In 2007 he created, alongside DJs Skrem and Artwork, the dubstep supergroup called Magnetic Man, with whom he released two Eps. In 2008 he released his second album called Diary of an Afro Warrior, which reached number 139 on the UK charts. His third album was titled Chapter II and was released in 2013. Among Benga's most popular songs we can find “Forefather”, “Night” and “26 Basslines”.
