Bicep Bio
Comprised of Andrew Ferguson and Matthew McBriar, the DJ duo Bicep hails from Belfast, Northern Ireland. The two are known for their flawless combinations of genres, including that of jazz, rock, and funk. Their first 12″, entitled 313/The Winter, was released through Traveller Records in 2010, but it did not compare to the 12″ that they released through Throne of Blood Records that same year. Darwin became one of the most downloaded tracks the week it was released on the popular music site xlr8r.com.
Since their initial success, the duo has released a handful of singles and EPs, as well as two compilations entitled Bicep Presents Throne of Blood in 2012 and later Bicep Presents We Love Space Sundays 2013 the following year. The track off of their EP You / Don’t entitled “$tripper” is thrusting them into the larger arena of DJs and track remixers. The two have admitted an affinity for 1990s house music, which serves as part of their musical influence.
