The British actor William Francis Nigh, more known as Bill Nighy, was born in Caterham, Surrey, England on the twelve-day of December 1949. At first, he wanted to become a journalist or writer, but destiny had other plans for him. He made his first acting appearance on the TV show “Softly, Softly: Taskforce” from 1976, and then continued making appearances in other TV shows and films. His role in the comedy film “Love Actually” from 2003, enhanced his popularity, and since that, he has interpreted a lot of memorable roles, like Viktor from the “Underworld” films and Davy Jones from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” films. He has been nominated for several awards and won some others, to mention one, a Golden Globe as Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie.
