Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings was founded by veteran bass player Bill Wyman. Bill initially founded Rolling Stones in 1962 before he essentially retired and left the band in 1993. He was going to dedicate his time to his family and Sticky Fingers, his small restaurant business.
He returned to music four years later (in 1997) and with superstar musicians keyboardist Georgie Fame, guitarist Albert Lee, pianist Gary Brooker, and guitarist Terry Taylor, Bill formed Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings. They released Struttin’ Our Stuff in the same year as their debut album and added Anyway the Wind Blows two years later. Groovin' followed in 2000 and it peaked at number 52 on the U.K. charts. They also released Double Bill (2001) and Just for a Thrill (2004) before the band dedicated itself to live performances.
