Billy Joe Saunders Bio
Billy Joe Saunders is a professional boxer born on 30th August 1989 in England. He was the WBO middleweight champion from 2015 to 2018 and the WBO super-middleweight champion from 2019 to 2021. He started his career with the Cheshunt Amateur Boxing Club. At the age of 18, he qualified for the welterweight division of the Beijing Olympics. He made his professional debut at the National Indoor Arena in February 2009. He faced Emanuele Blandamura in July 2014 and defeated him to win the European middleweight title.
He was scheduled to fight on the Canelo Alvarez vs Liam Smith undercard in July 2016 but declined to feature on the undercard. In February 2019, he announced that he would be challenging for the WBO super-middleweight title. In September of the same year, he defended his WBO super-middleweight title on the undercard of the KSI vs. Logan Pual II.
