Billy Strings, also known as William Apostol, is an American bluegrass multi-instrumentalist born in Lansing, Michigan, in 1992. He started playing bluegrass at a young age, and in his early adulthood, he moved to Traverse City, where he met mandolinist Don Julin. With Julin, Strings recorded a full-length album titled “Rock of Ages” in 2013. A year later, the artist issued “Fiddle Tune X”, a self-recorded album, and joined the bluegrass band M-23. In 2017 Strings moved to Nashville and released “Turmoil & Tinfoil”, his second LP, produced by Glenn Brown. In 2019, Billy Strings signed with the bluegrass label Rounder Records and issued “Home”.
