Bismack Biyombo Sumba was born on August 28, 1992, in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is a Congolese professional basketball player in the NBA. He was discovered by coach Mário Palma when he was only a 16-year-old teenager. Following which he trained and started with the Fuenlabrada-Getafe Madrid of the EBA in 2009. Biyombo was in CB Illescas in LEB Silver league and CB Illescas in LEB Silver league before he made his debut in the Spanish ACB League in 2011. He inevitably managed to get drafted into the NBA in 2011 by the Sacramento Kings but was shortly traded to the Charlotte Bobcats. He was drafted seventh overall. After brief stints with the Toronto Raptors (2015-2016) and Orlando Magic (2016-2018), Biyombo rejoined the Charlotte Hornets in 2018 and is currently still playing for them. (Charlotte Bobcats changed their name to Charlotte Hornet in 2015).
