Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears is an American blues, funk, rock and roll, and soul band formed in Austin, Texas by the musician Black Joe Lewis. The band consists of the members Joe Lewis, Bill Stevenson, Jason Frey, Derek Phelps, Joseph Woullard, and Eduardo Torres. In 2008 the band signed to the label Lost Highway Records. They released their debut album on March 17, 2009 titled Tell ‘Em What Your Name Is! produced by Jim Eno. They have since released the albums Electric Slave, Backlash, and Scandalous. The band has performed at festivals like Coachella, Bumbershoot, Sasquatch! Music Festival, Latitude Festival, Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival, and others. They have also made appearances on shows like Late Show with David Letterman, Austin City Limits, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and Later… with Jools Holland. In 2010 they were featured in the documentary Echotone about the Austin, Texas music scene.
