Black Prairie Bio
Originating from Portland, Oregon, Black Prairie is comprised of six members who plays instrumental and acoustic music. They started back in 2007. Chris Funk, a Decemberists guitarist and Nate Query a Decemberists bassist wanted to form a band that will play feel-good music which are instrumental and acoustic. Therfore, they soon recruited more musicians including Jenny Conlee, Jon Neufield, and Annalisa Tornfelt.
They signed under Sugar Hills Records, releasing a debut album entitled “Feast of the Hunter’s Moon” in year 2010. Their next album was entitled “Tear in the Eye Is a Wound in the Heart” in 2012. Their third album had the title “Fortune.”
