Blacktop Mojo is an American hard rock band formed in 2012 in Palestine, Texas by vocalist Matt James and drummer Nathan Gillis, who would later recruit bassist Matt Curtis and guitarists Ryan Kiefer and Kenneth Irwin. In 2014 the band independently released their debut album “I Am” and did some rigorous touring with acts like Bon Jovi, Sammy Hagar, Drowning Pool, and Puddle of Mudd. Their second LP effort “Burn the Ships” was produced by Jimmy Johnson and went out in 2017, after which the band hit the road again. In 2018 the band underwent some lineup changes, with Chuck Wepfer taking the role of Kenneth Irwin on guitar. By 2019 the band had also released “Under the Sun”, produced by Philip Mosley.
