Blind Guardian Bio

Blind Guardian is a metal band from West Germany. It was formed in 1984, and its members include lead vocalist Hansi Kürsch, lead guitarist/backing vocalist André Olbrich, rhythm guitarist Marcus Siepen, and drummer/percussionist Frederik Ehmke. The band has also seen several members leaving and others joining over the years. They released their debut album, “Battalions of Fear”, in 1988. Their second album, “Follow the Blind”, was released the following year.

They issued their third album, “Tales from the Twilight World”, in 1990. Two years later, they released their fourth album, titled “Somewhere Far Beyond”. They went on to release the albums “Nightfall in Middle-Earth” in 1998, “A Night at the Opera” in 2002, “A Twist in the Myth” in 2006, “Beyond the Red Mirror” in 2015, “Legacy of the Dark Lands” in 2019, and “The God Machine” in 2022. The band has also gone on tour in many places and has performed live at many events.
