Bobbi Brown Bio

Bobbi Brown is a makeup artist, entrepreneur, author, and businesswoman born on April 14, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She has a degree in Theatrical Makeup and Photography from Emerson College in Boston. She made her debut in the beauty industry in 1991 with her Bobbi Brown Essentials, a collection of ten brown-based lipstick shades.


Although Estée Lauder Companies acquired Bobbi Brown Cosmetics in 1995, Bobbi retained her role. She stepped down in 2016, launching Beauty Evolution, LLC. Bobbi received Glamour Magazine's Women of the Year Award in 1997 and Cosmetic Executive Women's Achievement Award in 1998. She has collaborated with photographers like Bruce Weber, Francesco Scavullo, and Arthur Elgort.


Bobbi is the author of two New York Times bestselling books, Bobbi Brown Beauty (1997) and Bobbi Brown Teenage Beauty (1998). She has appeared on Oprah, Entertainment Tonight, The Martha Stewart Show, and Dr. Oz. Bobbi is the exclusive beauty editor of NBC's Today Show. She is associated with Fresh Air Fund and Dress for Success.
