Bobby Flay is an American television personality, chef and show host. He was born Robert William Flay on the 10th of December, 1964, in New York, U.S. He graduated from the French Culinary Institute in 1984. He started working as a sous-chef and he soon landed his first major job at the Brighton Grill, where he had the executive chef’s position. Then, he took a job at Bud and Jams, working alongside Jonathan Waxman, who would introduce Flay to southwestern and Cajun cuisine, which would be defining for his career. He became executive chef and partner at Mesa Grill in 1991. In 1993, he opened Bolo Bar & restaurant, with Laurence Kretchmer and in 2004 he opened a second Mesa Grill in Las Vegas. Flay has hosted more than 15 cooking shows on Food Network and Cooking Channel like “Hot Off the Grill with Bobby Flay”, “Grilling & Chilling” and “BBQ with Bobby Flay”. He also performed as an Iron Chef, on the show “Iron Chef”, challenging Chef Masaharu Morimoto to battle rock crab, he would later partner up with Morimoto as a team to defeat fellow Iron Chefs Mario Batali and Hiroyuki Sakai.
