Bobby V, born Bobby Marcel Wilson (born February 27, 1980) is an American R&B singer-songwriter and actor. Bobby V started his music career as Bobby Wilson in 1996 with an R&B youth quarter called Mista. After their first release ‘Blackberry Molasses’, the group later split in 1997 due to management issues. Bobby pursued his college degree and worked on recording his own demos. One of his demos was heard by Ludacris and he signed Bobby to his record label DPT (Disturbing tha Peace). He was now known as Bobby Valenino and released his first album, ‘Bobby Valentino’, in 2005 with his hit single ‘Slow Down’ which hit number 1 on the Billboard B&B Stage and a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. By the end of 2005, Bobby toured with Omarion, Marques Houston, Pretty Ricky and B5 on the Scream Tour IV. He then released ‘Tell Me’ featuring Lil Wayne. He released ‘Special Occasion’, his last album with DPT and went on to release ‘Come with Me’ independently in 2008. Bobby eventually signed with EMI and dropped the album ‘Rebirth’ in 2009 as Bobby V followed by his fifth album, ‘Fly on the Wall’ in 2011. In 2012, he began to collaborate with other artists and was featured on Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ and featured Lil Wayne on his sixth album, ‘Dusk Till Dawn’. Bobby signed a new contract with SoNo Recording Group and released ‘Elektirk’ in 2018 featuring Snoop Dogg. Throughout his career, Bobby V won two Urban Music Awards and one BMI award and was nominated for two SoulTrain awards, one vibe award and one NAACP Image Awards.
