Booba is a French rapper born in Boulogne-Billancourt on September 9, 1976. His real name is Ellie Yaffa, and he received a nomination for The Best International Act Award during the 2018 BET Awards.
His hip-hop career started in 1994. He formed the group Lunatic with the rapper Ali. The duo disbanded and Booba concentrated on his solo career. Three of his albums, Ouest Side (2006), Lunatic (2010), and D.U.C (2015), topped the French charts while his debut album Temps mort (2002) and Trone (2017) peaked on No. 2.
He also topped the French charts with the singles “OKLM,” “E.L.E.P.H.A.N.T,” and “DKR.”
He has been featured in several tracks including Alonzo’s “Même tarif”, Kalash’s “N.W.A.,” and Fally Ipupa’s “Kiname.” He has also collaborated with 2 Chainz and Rick Ross.
