The Boogarins are a psychedelic rock band from Brazil, comprised of Dinho Almeida (vocals, rhythm guitar), Benke Ferraz (guitar), Raphael Vaz (bass), and Hans Castro (drums). They blend a Latin beat with mellow surf rock attitude. Benke and Dinho founded the band, recording the EP “As Plantas Que Curam” while they were in school, naming the band after a Brazilian strain of jasmine.
They soon signed a contract with the Other Music label, and released the original EP as a full album, then followed that with their 2017 album “Lá Vem a Morte.” They’ve been featured on station NPR’s “World Cafe” show, and garnered a review of “best new artist” from Rolling Stone magazine. Their latest album as of this writing is “Manual.”
