Borknagar Bio
Borknagar is a Bergen-based Norwegian heavy metal band created in 1995 by ystein Garnes Brun. The band's sound combines black metal, folk metal, progressive metal, and melodic elements. Borknagar's lyrics are frequently concerned with philosophy, paganism, nature, and the universe.
Borknagar has thus far produced eleven albums. Their self-titled debut album contains just Norwegian lyrics; all subsequent albums contain solely English lyrics (however, The Olden Domain featured an instrumental track titled in Norwegian). ICS Vortex from Arcturus and ex-Dimmu Borgir, drummer Asgeir Mickelson, keyboardist Lars Nedland, and, most recently, current vocalist Vintersorg from Otyg and his eponymous band have all contributed lyrics to the band.
