Born Ruffians Bio

Born Ruffians is a Canadian indie rock band formed in Midland, Ontario, in 2002. It consists of vocalist Luke LaLonde, bassist/vocalist Mitch DeRosier, and drummer Steve Hamelin. After making some waves in the Toronto scene, the band signed a deal with Warp Records and rendered a self-titled EP in 2006. Their full-length album debut came in 2008 with “Red Yellow & Blue”, and earned the band a nomination for Pop/Rock Album of the year at the Independent Music Awards. After recruiting keyboardist Andy Lloyd in 2010, the band issued a second LP titled “Say It” and set off on tour. Born Ruffians then moved to the label Yep Rock and released “Birthmarks”, their third full-length album. Drummer Adam Hindle then joined the band, in a lineup that was responsible for “Ruff” (2015). Two more albums ensued in the following years: “Uncle, Duke & the Chief”, (2018) and “Juice” (2020), the latter featuring a collaboration by Maddy Wilde.
