Brad Marchand is an ice hockey player born on May 11, 1988, in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, Canada. He currently plays left wing for the Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League (NHL). Brad also represents Canada on the international stage. He has represented Canada at the World Cup of Hockey and the Olympics.
The Bruins selected him as the 71st overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Brad made his NHL debut on October 21, 2009, against the Nashville Predators. He played minor hockey in the Hammonds Plains, including AAA midget with the Dartmouth Subways. He played four seasons in the QMJHL between the Moncton Wildcats, Val-d'Or Foreurs, and Halifax Mooseheads.
Brad is best known for his two-way play and his ability to score short-handed goals. He has won numerous awards and championships throughout his career, including the Stanley Cup in 2011 Brad played in NHL All-Star Game in 2017 and 2018. He was in the 2017 and 2021 NHL First All-Star Team and the 2019 and 2020 NHL Second All-Star Team.
