Brandon Woelfel (born August 17, 1994 in Long Island, New York, USA) is a freelance portrait photographer.
Initially, Brandon never intended to become a photographer. He went to the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan to study computer art. In his sophomore year, while learning 2D and 3D animation, Brandon got his first DSLR and took up photography as a hobby. He explored several Instagram pages to draw inspiration and after graduation, he was ready to turn dive head-on into photography.
He started out as a freelance photographer on Instagram, building his catalog of portraits and working consistently to develop his own signature style. He began by shooting friends and conceptually exploring light during night shoots. Since then, Brandon has worked with clients including Buzzfeed, Apple, Nikon, and Urban Outfitters. He is also an instructor on SkillShare and the artist behind two intelligent books from Thought Catalog: Luminescence (2017) and Ultraviolet (2019/2020).
