Brandt Brauer Frick is three Berlin-based friends Daniel Brandt, Jan Brauer, and Paul Frick who started as a trio in 2009 with the 12” singles ''Wallah”` and ''Iron Man” issued respectively on The Gym and Tartelet. They differentiated themselves from others by producing techno without technology and using classical instruments instead. They were signed by the IK7 label and released their first LP, You Make Me Real in November 2010. They followed with Mr.Machine in October 2011. They continued with the third album in March 2013, called Miami on which they collaborated with guest vocals including Gudrun Gut, Nina Kraviz, Jamie Lidell, and Om’Mas Keith. The BBF participated in festivals such as Montreux Jazz, Lincoln Center, Coachella, Mutek, Sonar, and Berghain. In their fourth studio album released in October 2016, the trio collaborated with Beaver Sheppard, singer and poet. In June 2019, BBF came back with Echo, an album primarily oriented with instrumentals. Their only vocalists were Friedberg and Catherine Ringer.
