Bret Easton Ellis is an American writer, novelist, and producer who is best known for writing American Psycho. He was born March 7, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, United States. He began writing novels in the 80s, but his most recognizable work was his 1991 novel American Psycho which was adapted to the critically acclaimed movie of the same name that featured Christian Bale, Willem Dafoe, Jared Leto, and Reese Witherspoon. Bret is known for the movies Smiley Face Killers, The Curse of Downers Grove, The Rules of Attraction, and the novels White, The Informers, Lunar Park, and Imperial Bedrooms.
