Bret Michaels, born in 1963 in Butler, Pennsylvania, is also known as Bret Michael Sychak, is an American singer and songwriter who became famous as the frontman of the 80s glam metal band Poison. After moving to Los Angeles in 1984 with bassist Bobby Dall and drummer Rikki Rockett, the trio recruited guitarist C.C. DeVille and formed Poison. The band went on to produce chart-topping hits in the late 80s like “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and “Unskinny Bop”. However, by the mid-1990s, Poison’s success started to fade, and Michaels embarked on other projects like a film production company in collaboration with Charlie Sheen, and “Letter from Death Row”, his 1998 solo album debut. Michaels’ solo career carried on with “Songs of Life” (2003), “Freedom of Sound” (2006), and “Rock my World” (2008) while the artist also turned to reality TV starring VH1’s show “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels” from 2007 to 2009. From 2010 on, Michaels starred in another show called “Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It” and released the long-player “Custom Built”.
