Brian May Bio
Brian Harold May is a singer, songwriter, producer, and guitarist born in Twickenham, England, on July 19, 1947. He has a degree in Maths and Physics from Imperial College London. He was the Chancellor of Liverpool at John Moores University from 2008 to 2013.
His influences include Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, The Beatles' George Harrison, and The Shadows' Hank B. Marvin. Brian formed Queen with Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon. He wrote and co-wrote several songs for Queen, including We Will Rock You, Tie Your Mother Down, Bohemian Rhapsody, Who Wants to Live Forever, and Hammer to Fall.
Brian is an advocate of animal welfare, involved in the fight against fox hunting, trophy hunting, and badger culling. He created the Save Me Trust Charity in 2009, collaborating with Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue and rehabilitation centers. His services earned him an appointment as Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2005.
