Brian Tyler Bio

Brian Tyler is a composer and film producer from the United States who is recognized for his fast-paced, explosive music for action movies, thrillers, and video games. Tyler was named Cue's 2013 Composer of the Year and is a frequent guest composer with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.


Brian Tyler was born in Orange County, California, on 8th May 1972. He received his bachelor's degree in music from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his master's degree from Harvard University.


Tyler began his career writing the score for "Bartender," an independent Gabe Torres film. He also composed the score for "six-string Samurai" and "Frailty. "


In addition, he has created scores for movies such as; "Godsend," "The Greatest Game Ever Played," and "Constantine." Tyler has also written music for films such as "Dragonball Evolution" and "Middle Men," followed by "The Final Destina" in 2010.


Tyler has got a knack for the video games niche also. Some of his works in video games were created for the 2011 Need for Speed game "Need for Speed, The Run" for Electronic Arts. He also worked on the soundtracks for "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" and "Far Cry 3". Tyler wrote music for NetDevil's multiplayer game "Lego Universe'' in 2010.


His grandparents have inspired Tyler since he was a child. Walter H. Tyler, his grandpa, was an Academy Award-winning art director, and his grandmother was a renowned pianist.
